Jet Packs Have Arrived!

March 5

This made my morning:  Martian Aircraft Company is announcing that they are going to offer a jet pack with a range of 30 miles that can fly at 60 miles an hour for $75,000.  Pretty reasonable for a cool toy like this:

Journal Me This…

January 11

I have owned theWriteQuality domain for a couple years and in that time  its undergone a number of changes.  At first  I was going to use it to blog strictly about writing, then it became a site where I promoted myself as a freelance writer.  Now tWQ it to become my ’source blog’; the place where all my online blogging – business and professional – is logged and can feed to other sites.

So, tWQ is going to be a very expressive and personal site – you will get everything from religion and politics to cars, movies and book reviews.  It will be a kind of professional journal and portfolio  – my own column that I dreamed about when I was in high school.

I have done some professional blogging for other companies, but not put together a site for myself.  This will be it.  Please feel free to comment on anything you read – I am interested in what people have to say.

Welcome to MEB.com in Exile

January 8

Sadly, I have determined that my old website has critically failed and cannot be recovered.  A database failure – probably my mistake – has destroyed most of the layout.  I will need some time to create a new site – something I don’t have a lot of time to do.

As a result, www.michaeledwardbailey.comwill be pointing to this site – theWriteQuality.

I set up this site originally for my personal business site, but realized that i needed to broaden my branding a little:  my current business site is being developed separately.

I then decided to use theWriteQuality as my ’source’ blog.  By tagging and categorizing content, I can feed individual posts to specific sites or multiple sites without logging into a dozen different places.  I also wanted to experiment with WordPress, which I have enjoyed a great deal.

I am not sure when I will get my personal site back up.  In the mean time, enjoy theWriteQuality.

Change is in the Air

January 7

It’s been a busy day at work.  I have some new responsibilities that I am about to take on.  I had a meeting with my Supervisor about some new required reports that are coming online with a new contract with the Air Force, and I will be the primary point on creating the documents.  This should prove an interesting challenge.

One of the reports requires a new testing process that IDS must implement.  It means that a much more detailed structure will need to be put into place to meet the requirements of the report.  This has the potential to become a huge project.  Tedious, but more than enough work to pay the bills.

I also got some very favorable news about a potential big change.  I can’t go into details right now, but I am very encouraged by the possabilities .  Details to come…

Mike’s Desk is the personal blog of Michael Bailey.

Most of what I blog about is related to writing: everything from technical writing to screenwriting and all points in between, (which is pretty broad, I admit), but also delves into other issues I am interested in including politics, science, religion, sci-fi and cars and especially my family.

Don’t be surprised to see syrupy, lovey-dovey comments about my wife Karly and our two girls Isabella and Amelia, either.

Feel free to drop my a line or two whenever.  My inbox is always open.
